What is a plunge pool?

‘Plunge pool’ is a term that can be applied to a number of different things: the pool at the base of a waterfall, the small and simple backyard pool filled with unheated water, or a fully featured hot tub or swim spa that can be cooled down on command.

No matter what shape a plunge pool takes, the main purpose remains the same: to provide a refreshing dip, often as a post-exercise cool-down.

Why choose a Fastlane Pools plunge pool over a standard backyard plunge pool? Here are just a few of the most compelling reasons:

  • Temperature control: Our portable plunge pools can be cooled to 15C (with the optional CoolZone™ System) or heated to 40C – just pick your perfect temperature on the digital display!
  • Year-round use: Unheated plunge pools can feel a little too refreshing in the winter. But the control offered by Fastlane Pools plunge pool means you can use it all year round, no matter the weather.
  • More than just a plunge: A normal backyard plunge pool just offers a refreshing cool down. Our portable plunge pools offer a complete pre- or post-exercise experience, complete with hydromassage, lights and water features.

Plunge pool cost

A self-contained plunge pool from Fastlane Pools represent incredible value versus a traditional backyard plunge pool, for a number of reasons:

Installation

Traditional backyard plunge pools can be expensive, as you need to pay for things like planning permission, excavation, installation and landscaping. Fastlane Pools plunge pools, meanwhile, are self-contained units that can be set in place, powered, filled and warmed or cooled – you’ll be taking a plunge before you know it!

Temperature

With the ability to change your temperature with the press of a button, you’ll get far more use out of your Fastlane Pools plunge pool.

Functionality

A traditional plunge pool is good for one use: a short dip in cold water. A Fastlane Pools portable plunge pool, meanwhile, can be used for socialising, relaxation, quality family time and most notably, home aquatic workouts.

A plunge pool built for Melbourne

Traditional plunge pools - narrow, deep pools filled with cold water - are great for short, refreshing dips. But in Melbourne they are of limited use, as our cooler climate makes most of our water rather refreshing. A Fastlane Pools swim spa offers a slightly different take on the plunge pool. With the help of our CoolZone System it can bring the water down to a refreshing 15c, but it can also heat the water to 40C. Add in a current generation system that delivers a swim-in-place experience, and hydromassage seating, and you have not just a plunge pool, but so much more!

Heart

Immersing yourself in the warm waters of your hot tub sends more blood, and therefore more oxygen and nutrients, around your body to where they’re needed.

Muscles

Between the warmth of the water and the action of the hydromassage jets, your hot tub loosens tight muscles and reduces inflammation.

Joints

With buoyancy taking weight off joints and promoting movement, Melburnians with chronic pain or limited mobility can enjoy serious relief in a hot tub.

The jets, the lights, the sounds, the water features; in a Hot Spring you can sit back, relax and forget your troubles.
