Hot Tub Spa Bath

Spa baths and hot tubs: same-same, but different. Both hold warm water. Both offer hydromassage and are used for relaxation. Both can be even more fun with company. But these similarities aside, hot tubs and spa baths are quite different products, and choosing the right option for your home will depend on what you want from your purchase.

Size

How many people will your Hot Spring host? Social butterflies will need more seats than people who are looking for a more intimate escape.

Location

Consider where you might want to place your hot tub, then check how much space you have, ease of access, and the ability to power and drain your machine.

Spa baths vs hot tubs

Spa baths are essentially bathtubs fitted with jets. Usually installed indoors, they use fresh tap water and lack heating systems, so are filled and drained with each use.

Hot tubs are different, taking some cues from spa baths, and other cues from swimming pools, they are filled once, then that water is treated with chemicals so it lasts for months (or in the case of a machine fitted with our FreshWater Salt System, up to a year). The presence of heaters means the water is kept constantly toasty and the arrays of hydromassage jets tend to extend far beyond the handful found in most spa baths.

Hot tubs are usually installed outdoors and if you choose a Hot Spring you’ll enjoy an incredible array of features, including automated water care, lighting, water features and entertainment systems.

Which should you choose?

A spa bath or a Hot Spring hot tub? If you’re after a truly luxurious soak that offers a wealth of benefits and can be shared with family and friends, you’d be wise to choose a Hot Spring.

Functionality

Far more than a tub lined with jets, a Hot Spring hot tub provides targeted massage jets with customisable pressure to suit your comfort.  The water is forever filtered and heated, ready for action whenever you are. Lights and water features set the mood.

Health and wellness

A Hot Spring hot tub can deliver more than just relaxation – Hot Spring Spa customers often report an incredible range of health and wellness benefits, including real relief for those suffering from arthritis, anxiety, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, migraines and more.

Installation

Even installation is simple with a Hot Spring hot tub. Unlike a spa bath, which must be built in, our fully portable, fully self-contained hot tubs can be placed where you want, plugged in, filled and warmed – setup is that simple. What’s more, if you choose to move house, you can take your hot tub with you!

A spa bath under the Melbourne stars

Spa baths: they can be relaxing, restorative and romantic, but one thing they usually aren't is picturesque. So instead of being surrounded by the four walls of your bathroom, why not move your spa outside? A hot tub offers all the perks of a spa bath in a more stunning setting - you can enjoy the Melbourne summer sun, or you can enjoy the warmth and gaze up at the stars on a cool winter evening. Hot tubs are also an experience better shared, whether with your partner, friends or family.

Are hot tubs good for your health?

Why drive all the way to Daylesford when you can place a healing Hot Spring right in your own backyard? A hot tub in your Melbourne backyard grants you access to proven health and wellness benefits.

Heart

Immersing yourself in the warm waters of your hot tub sends more blood, and therefore more oxygen and nutrients, around your body to where they’re needed.

Image 3409
Muscles

Between the warmth of the water and the action of the hydromassage jets, your hot tub loosens tight muscles and reduces inflammation.

Image 3410
Joints

With buoyancy taking weight off joints and promoting movement, Melburnians with chronic pain or limited mobility can enjoy serious relief in a hot tub.

Brain

The jets, the lights, the sounds, the water features; in a Hot Spring you can sit back, relax and forget your troubles.

The Hot Spring® Difference

With the potential for four seasons on any given day, the right conditions for water-based fun can prove elusive in Melbourne... unless you enjoy total control over your environment.
